A gifted painter Zhora Gasparyan, due to the power of his brush and his unique art, took out of the human being and shaped the seven deadly sins that so destroy and frustrate our personalities, our lives, our society.

Director of the Museums and Archives of the Mother See
Zhora Gasparyan’s art has fascinated me since my early student years, when the probability of making a mistake from a professional point of view was so high, however, I must admit that at the same time the emotional, intuitive inclination to perceive the work of art was more primary and years later, taking a professional look at his works, they make me a direct observer again who, first of all, is able to feel the work of art, leaving aside the professional critical thoughts, because in those works a perfect harmony of color, shape and content is created. Having followed his creative stages for many years, at the same time excluding the notion of “progress” in art, considering the stylistic and substantive as a result of the change in the artist’s task set before him, it becomes clear that this artist keeps pace with the times, regularly changing the tasks in art set by himself.

Zhora Gasparyan’s art is the one that attracts attention at first sight, especially for the art-loving people, who first of all search for the idea in the creation, what to say ... Conceptualism is generally an art of thought, where the artist puts his thought first, at times even giving a secondary place to aesthetic issues. Zhora Gasparyan’s works have a character that ignores the material. They give tasks to the viewer, pose questions to each of us and suggest that we be more careless about the impossible, recalling the most important thing for a person – the issue to ponder, philosophize, comprehend the mystery of life and, undoubtedly, to FEEL. In his paintings, one can often come across unreal images, which, however, are connected to our souls by a strange thread. There seems to be lightness in his work, which touches upon even the most difficult and complex subject. His painting “The Flight of a Dreamer”, “Stories from the War” four-figure paintings, “There on a High Hill” big canvas work, “Connection with the Eternity”, the Komitas “Song of Kali” and many other canvases are clear boundaries of human material life in the process of passing to the eternal. Zhora easily crosses the inhibitory boundaries and he does it without a fight, without enmity, without anger and unnecessary lamentation ... He is at peace with the life and his reconciliation and inner, wise peace often face even the most difficult and seemingly difficult problem with a smile… There is a song of kindness and love in each work of his ... A child’s view of life, where man is closer to the Creator ... Where man is an essence, free from clothes and form.

In the space and in the orbit where Zhora Gasparyan’s art spreads, one can find exceptional honesty and disagreement with everything that does not coincide with conscience, faith and sensuality. Embracing all the emotions of classicism, Zhora’s art contains an absolutely modern spirit. Due to one attitude to all of this and performance differs from everything that exists in the world of contemporary art today.
